DESCRIPTION:Please note: This tour is now sold out. \nThis tour was originally scheduled for the 27th of November and has now been rescheduled for the 4th of December. \nErcol’s Chairman\, Henry Tadros\, will give a tour of the ercol factory in Princes Risborough. This is a rare opportunity to see inside the 16\,000sqm factory\, as due to manufacturing constraints the factory is not open to the public. \nHenry Tadros\, Lucian Ercolanis great-grandson\, will tour the group throughout the factory looking at machining\, steam bending\, assembling and finishing of the classic ercol designs. \nThe tour will take approximately 2 hours. \nFor adults. Unfortunately no children (under 16) are allowed in the factory.\nHi-vis vests and safety goggles will be provided that must be worn whilst in the factory. \nAccessibility info: While the factory floor is accessible the nature of a tour around the factory means there is a fair amount of walking. It is also quite loud in the factory\, as there is machinery running throughout the tour – it may be challenging for those hard of hearing. \nFacilities info: Toilets available. \nLocation: Ercol\, Summerleys Road\, Princes Risborough\, HP27 9PX \n  \nThis tour is free to attend. DESCRIPTION:Wycombe Museum presents this interactive learning workshop for home educators.\nIn November’s session\, we’ll be looking High Wycombe’s history of furniture making. When\, how and why did Wycombe become a world centre of the furniture industry? Who made the furniture\, and where? What was like life for the workers? \nTickets are only required for participating children\, and children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the sessions. \nTickets £7.50 per child \nTime slots: \n\n\n\nAges 4 – 6: 10am – 11am\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAges 7 – 11: 11.30am – 12.30pm\n\n\n\nPlease note these age ranges are recommendations rather than rules\, and is an indication of who the session will be best for. \nIf you have multiple children who fall into different age categories\, it’s okay to bring both to one session. Please select whichever session you think will be most appropriate for your children. We’ll do our best to accommodate children who fall outside of the recommended age range\, and will have resources available from both sessions that can be made available. DESCRIPTION:Join the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for this free tour of Bletchley (Manor Road) Cemetery. \nOur tours are free to the public\, but if you would like to support us then please consider donating to our charity The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF). \nhttps://foundation.cwgc.org/donate/ \nMEETING POINT at the main cemetery entrance off Manor Road. \nThe cemetery is the final resting place of 22 casualties from both world wars\, many of whom were from the Bletchley and Fenny Stratford area. Amongst those casualties are Gunner William Munday\, Royal Field Artillery\, who was awarded the Military Medal in 1918 and Flying Officer Leslie Smith\, 218 Squadron\, RAF who received the Distinguished Flying Cross in the second world war. We also have the grave of Marine Frederick Southwell who died while serving at HMS Robertson\, a holding base for landing craft personnel. Frederick was just 18. \nPlease note there is limited parking available at the cemetery but ample parking within walking distance. There are no facilities or toilets. Wheelchair users and attendees with pushchairs are welcome but will need to stay on the main paths. \nPlease dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear. \nThe Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to actively engage all communities with the work of the CWGC by telling the inspiring stories through education and outreach projects. \nThe CWGF is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC051982). \nFor more information and to book your free space\, click here.
