The Right of Way War

November 19 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Free

120 years ago, the people of Wendover marched on Coombe Hill in protest of the fences erected by the new landlord, Sir John Walton. Two things about the mass trespass are of interest: firstly, it was massively successful, and secondly, almost no one knows about it.

Join the Buckinghamshire Archives team for this online talk on the Coombe Hill Mass Trespass, an important event in the early rights of way movement that the newspapers at the time described as the ‘Right of Way War’.

This talk is free to attend but there are limited spaces that must be booked in advance.

To book your spot, please contact frances@spokenwordltd.com

Alternatively, visit Wendover Community Library and ask one of the volunteers at the counter to add your name to the attendee list.
