Women With Wings – The journey of writing ‘When We Fall’

Join award winning novelist Carolyn Kirby in this illustrated talk which covers her twelve-year journey researching and writing When We Fall. The novel was inspired by women pilots of the Second World War. Carolyn’s illustrated talk explores the lives of four of these remarkable women, including record-breaker Amy Johnson who lost her life whilst flying for Air Transport Auxiliary, and the Polish pilot Janina Lewandowska, the only female victim of the massacre of Polish prisoners of war by the Soviet Union at Katyn in 1940.
